I am no longer ashamed of love.

Have you seen the moonrise?
when she rose before sunset,
I lingered to watch her,
She stood silently in silhouette against the windows,
and the brimming sunbeams embraced her,
the sky was then pale and sea-blue,
The moon was a pinkish golden petal in between.

I once was muddled, muddled in endless doubts
I once was lost, lost in endless dead ends
and day by day out of new-found freedoms
my treasure gently slips uncurled,
like a timid pearl came tip-toe out of her shell
and day by day my happiness vibrates
in wider and wider circles shine the world,
like a frightened child allowed to play the first time

The grey, the sorrowful, the shadow?
the voice of long icy winters,
the voice of hunger and pains,
How I lived yesterday now a mystery it seems,
for I have seen the moonrise before sunset,
She stood silently in silhouette against the windows,
who filled my heart with wonderous sweet kindness,
and all was because
you walked into my life with love so softly, softly sings....

Have you seen the moonrise in your eyes?
I am no longer ashamed of love.

Just a woman who writes her heart out, unapologetically……

  1. The freedom found and explored. Loved the imagery of this poem. I can image a frightened child allowed to play for the first time. Now I am not ashamed of love either.😂🤪 A little star struck🤩🥰

Your writings are beautiful, filled with a hope that allows others to believe they can overcome🙏
