The Longest Distance in The World

The longest distance in the world,
Is not between life and death,
But when I stand in front of you,
Yet you don't even know that I love you.


The longest distance in the world,
Is not when I stand in front of you
Yet you can't see my love,
But when undoubtedly knowing the love from both,
Yet cannot be together.


The longest distance in the world,
Is not being apart while being in love,
But when pain can not resist the yearning,
Yet pretending you have never been in my heart.
 

The longest distance in the world,
Is not when pain cannot resist the yearning,
yet pretending you have never been in my heart,
But using one's indifferent heart to dig,
an uncrossable river for the one who loves you.

Note:

This was one of those poems I read once and memorised instantly as a teenage girl. The reason was unknown, yet it has been floating in my subconscious mind for over a decade.

But nothing happens randomly in life. Oftentimes the little things, such as a song or a poem we feel clicked can reveal such profound and prophetic insights into ourselves and the nature of our suffering if only we’d listen. The heart already knows what the mind tries to deny.

I have translated this wonderful poem into English and Hope you enjoy reading it ! 🥳🥂

    1. Thanks so much for reading, Sushmita❤️ And yes, he might have used different wordings. But since I read it in Chinese language initially and had no ideas what the original language he wrote( perhaps in Hindi or English), so I translated according to my understanding😄
